Title: Getting Started with CEVO's Client
Date: 19/08/2014
Author: BigD

Hello there,

First of all, I would like to begin by welcoming you to CEVO, below is a step by step tutorial on how to get started with the CEVO client.

You can begin by downloading the CEVO client from the link below:
https://cevo.com/cmd/download/download/134/

Once you have downloaded the client, run through the installer and then run CEVO.

You should immediately see the home page.
Image

Now, if you switch to the pugs tab at the top, unless you've previously linked your Steam ID, it should ask for your Steam ID.
Image

There's two ways that you can get your ID, the first is:

Launch your Counter Strike: Global Offensive through Steam.

Open your console (` for most European keyboards, ~ for American keyboards - console key can differ per keyboard)

Type map de_dust2 into console and wait for it to load up.

Image

Join the spectators and type "status" into the console, you should then be presented with a group of numbers that starts with STEAM_1:

The second is entering your steam profile link into a ID finder website such as:
http://steamidfinder.com

---STEAMIDFINDER OUTDATED, DONT USE----

NOTE: You only want the number after STEAM_1, you do not want the number after STEAM, for example if my ID was
STEAM_1:0:48474729

I would put 0 in the first box and 48474729 in the second.
Image

Now if you click SAVE and then hit the PLAY button on the client, the server list should load for you and you should see a selection of servers on the list.

If you connect to a server and are given the error "Could not find a Steam ID linked to your CEVO account" then restart your client after you've added your ID and try again.

I believe I've cleared most of the starting process above however if there's anything else you need to know then please let me know.

This is an unofficial guide and CEVO's staff are not connected to this guide in any way shape or form, if you have any questions regarding the guide or the content inside then please contact me (BigD) and not members of the CEVO Staff Team.

Every time I try to join a server it takes me back to the CS:GO main menu after it is done loading.
My steam ID starts with Steam_0 instead of Steam_1. What is the solution to this problem?
CS:GO ID's are always Steam_0, don't worry about changing it. Are you guys planning on adding support for other games? I'd love to rotate pugs between CSGO and TF2 through the same client. Thanks!
