Register Now for the AVGL College League

The AVGL returns to CS:GO with the 2017 AVGL College League! This season features double the prize pool and a lowered entry fee! Teams will compete through 8 weeks of group stages followed by a final, national championship.

CEVO will be organizing matches and the servers. Any issues relating to the CEVO website, matches, or servers, will be dealt with by CEVO. You can reach them on Teamspeak: ts.cevo.com.


  • Register yourself on the CEVO website and the AVGL College website
  • Paste the link from your CEVO profile onto your AVGL profile into the “CEVO Profile” field (the numbers at the end of your profile link)
    • Your AVGL name must match your CEVO name
  • Find teammates using the Free Agent listings
    • Players can only team with players who attend a college or university in the same region
  • Team names must have the school name as the team name
    • The school designation is the college that the majority of players on the team attend
      • If there is no majority of players from a single school, then the team is designated to the school the team captain attends
    • If there are multiple teams from the same school, then the team can add a color such as “University of Connecticut Red”
  • Teams are allowed a maximum of 7 players.
    • Rosters lock after week 4 of the regular season
    • Multiple teams allowed per school
      • Players can only be on one CS:GO roster per season
    • Substitutes that are on a team’s roster may step in at any time between matches or games
  • Register for the event on the CEVO platform
    • You do not need to register for the event on the AVGL website, but you must have a profile on the AVGL website
  • Registration closes February 22nd



  • 1st: $5,000

  • 3rd: $2,000

All players (up to 7) on a roster are eligible for the prize pool

Prizes are paid out in the form of scholarship


  • $5 per player before February 19th
  • $10 per player on or after February 19th


  • Teams are split into groups (Divisions) of 8-10 teams
    • Round-robin format in each group
  • Matches begin February 26th  
    • 1 Match per week
  • Regular Season matches take place on Sundays at 5:00pm PST/ 8:00pm EST
    • February 26th

    • March 19th
    • March 26th
    • April 2nd
    • April 9th
    • April 16th
  • The top 2-3 teams from each group are invited to the final championship
    • April 29th and 30th
    • Single Elimination Bracket
      • Best of 3 matches
    • The top teams in each group are determined by:
      • 1. Overall match score
      • 2. In the case of a 2 way tie, then the team with the better head-to-head record will advance
      • 3. In the case of a 3 way or greater tie, the team with the best overall game record will move on
    • Championship seeding is determined by:
      • Final ranking in the team’s individual group
      • Randomized seeding
  • Missing 2 matches without first notifying an admin will result in disqualification from the league


  • You must use your AVGL username and school abbreviation in-game
    • Example: [UCF] Wayfarer
  • Match information such as lobby name, lobby password, and time are shown on the CEVO Match Page visible to the team captains
    • The default match time is 5:00pm PST/ 8:00pm EST, however, the match time can be changed if both captains agree to an alternate time
      • It is not considered unsportsmanlike to refuse a time change and captains are not required to provide a reason for refusing a time change
    • Teams must have 5 players in the server by 15 minute after the start time or they will forfeit the map
  • Best of 3 maps
    • Veto System
      • Home bans 1
      • Away bans 1
      • Home picks 1 (Away side choice)
      • Away picks 1 (Home side choice)
      • Last map random (Knife for sides)
  • Map pool:
    • Inferno
    • Train
    • Overpass
    • Mirage
    • Cache
    • Cobblestone
    • Nuke
    • Standard CEVO config
      • 1:50 round timer
      • 40 second bomb timer
      • CEVO in-game server commands
  • Match communication between teams must be related to pausing or saying “gg” to end the match
    • The AVGL strictly enforces sportsmanship policies regarding communication between teams
    • No Tea Bagging
  • We highly recommend you save your replay and screenshots of the final scoreboard to resolve any disputes`
  • Bots can never participate in a game and are not considered substitutes


  • Each team is allowed one tactical pause for 5 minutes
    • Type “.timeout” in chat
  • Each team is allowed unlimited technical pauses
    • Type “.problem” in chat
    • Teams abusing the technical pause system are subject to suspension and/or forfeiture of the match


  • No spectators are allowed except for AVGL admins or AVGL broadcasters
    • Coaches are not allowed in-game
  • Players can broadcast their match
    • If a player decides to broadcast their match, then they accept all responsibility for stream related issues or other players viewing the stream
      • The AVGL will not enforce any reports of stream sniping
    • If you are streaming your match, then let us know by Tweeting @AVGL_CSGO and we will Retweet your broadcast link
  • The AVGL reserves the right to stream any AVGL matches
